We’ve already talked about some CBD-infused coffee that is available around the states but there are also cannabis-infused soft drinks on the market. Here are some soft-drinks that are sure to help you medicate while staying refreshed.

Health Benefits of THC and CBD

THC is one of the many chemical compounds (also known as cannabinoids) found in marijuana. It binds with our system’s cannabinoid 1 receptors (CB1) found mainly in the brain and the central nervous system. Activating CB1receptors exclusively induces the psychoactive effect that is associated with marijuana use.

The effects of THC on the body include:

  • pain relief
  • anti-nausea
  • appetite stimulant
  • reduce the symptoms of glaucoma
  • natural sleep aid
  • counteract anxiety
  • muscular spasticity

Other potential uses include the treatment and use of THC for chronic pain such as; neuropathic pain, pain caused by injury or accident, depression, insomnia, and PTSD; which are just a few among a growing list.

CBD is a cannabinoid, like THC, that has been proven to have many health and medicinal benefits. But unlike THC, CBD produces no psychoactive effects in the user. Some of the health benefits of CBD include but are not limited to its uses for:

  • Anti-seizure
  • Antioxidant
  • Neuro-protective
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • Analgesic
  • Anti-tumor
  • Anti-psychotic
  • Anti-anxiety

Brands Currently On The Market

Cannabis infused soft drinks on the market currently advertise a refreshing and uplifting experience with their products. These sodas contain different levels of THC and CBD and come in a variety of flavors that have come to be associated with sodas.

  • Sprig Sprig is a company that produces both CBD and THC infused Dinks. Each of their CBD drinks contains 20mg of CBD. These CBD drinks are available both online and at certain grocers across the country because they contain no THC. They come in four different flavors: Citrus, Citrus (Zero Sugar), Lemon Tea, and Melon. THC infused soft drinks are also made by Sprig. They advertise a beverage that does not taste like marijuana as opposed to other edibles. Each soda comes infused with 10mg of THC and is available in either Citrus or Citrus (Zero Sugar) flavors.
  • Keef Cola Keef Cola is a company that produces THC infused sodas. Their products come in either 100mg of THC or 10 mg of THC and are available in a variety of different flavors: Purple Passion (grape), Orange Kush, Keef Cola, Blue Razz, and Bubba Kush Root Beer.

Coca-Cola With CBD?

Coca-Cola is interested in creating CBD infused beverages. Unlike similar beverages that have CBD infused with alcohol, these new products will not give the user any sort of psychoactive buzz. Instead, these new products being developed between Coca-Cola and Aurora (a Canadian based cannabis company) could help with inflammation, pain, and cramping.

According to Bloomberg, a spokesperson for Coca-Cola in an email to BNN Bloomberg stated that “along with many others in the beverage industry, we are closely watching the growth of non-psychoactive CBD as an ingredient in functional wellness beverages around the world. The space is evolving quickly. No decisions have been made at this time.”

Even though no final decision has been reached, this is very exciting news for the future of wellness and marijuana.
